Kurti tha se Engel ishte nj\u00eb mik dhe mb\u00ebshtet\u00ebs i madh i shqiptar\u00ebve, i cili nuk hezitoi asnj\u00ebher\u00eb t\u00eb ngriste z\u00ebrin p\u00ebr mbrojtjen e t\u00eb drejtave t\u00eb njeriut dhe t\u00eb pozicionohej n\u00eb an\u00ebn e drejt\u00eb t\u00eb historis\u00eb.<\/p>\n
\u201cKongresisti Eliot Engel, miku dhe mb\u00ebshtet\u00ebsi i madh i shqiptar\u00ebve n\u00eb p\u00ebrgjith\u00ebsi dhe i Kosov\u00ebs n\u00eb ve\u00e7anti, nuk hezitoi asnj\u00ebher\u00eb t\u00eb ngriste z\u00ebrin p\u00ebr mbrojtjen e t\u00eb drejtave t\u00eb njeriut dhe t\u00eb pozicionohej n\u00eb an\u00ebn e drejt\u00eb t\u00eb historis\u00eb. P\u00ebr m\u00eb tep\u00ebr, ai avokoi dhe u angazhua pa u kursyer q\u00eb t\u00eb drejtat t\u00eb triumfojn\u00eb. Kur erdhi n\u00eb Prishtin\u00eb, me rastin e hapjes s\u00eb zyr\u00ebs informuese t\u00eb Shteteve t\u00eb Bashkuara t\u00eb Amerik\u00ebs n\u00eb qershor t\u00eb vitit 1996, ai e cil\u00ebsoi at\u00eb si ambasad\u00ebn e par\u00eb t\u00eb shtetasve amerikan\u00eb n\u00eb Kosov\u00eb, duke u shprehur i bindur se nj\u00eb dit\u00eb do t\u00eb ket\u00eb nj\u00eb Republik\u00eb t\u00eb Kosov\u00ebs. K\u00ebt\u00eb e tregoi vet\u00eb n\u00eb dit\u00ebn kur preu shiritin e nd\u00ebrtes\u00ebs s\u00eb re e moderne t\u00eb Ambasad\u00ebs s\u00eb Shteteve t\u00eb Bashkuara t\u00eb Amerik\u00ebs n\u00eb Kosov\u00ebn e lir\u00eb dhe t\u00eb pavarur\u201d, tha ai.<\/p>\n
\u201cAi nuk u kursye asnj\u00ebher\u00eb n\u00eb angazhimin e tij, duke e ngritur dhe duke avokuar p\u00ebr mbrojtjen e \u00e7\u00ebshtjes son\u00eb n\u00eb institucionet m\u00eb t\u00eb larta amerikane. P\u00ebr m\u00eb shum\u00eb se 3 dekada, n\u00eb Kongresin e Shteteve t\u00eb Bashkuara, Engel ishte nj\u00eb sh\u00ebrbyes i p\u00ebrkushtuar i qytetar\u00ebve amerikan\u00eb, dhe p\u00ebrfaq\u00ebsues i fuqish\u00ebm p\u00ebr t\u00eb drejtat e njeriut dhe ato civile, kudo n\u00eb bot\u00eb e sidomos p\u00ebr ne. Kongresisti Engel i q\u00ebndroi besnik angazhimit p\u00ebr kombin ton\u00eb, q\u00eb kur u njoh p\u00ebr s\u00eb af\u00ebrmi me t\u00eb.
